FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does it cost?

Private Tours can book the whole bike for $350 (Sun-Thu) / $395 (Fri-Sat). Public Tours can book single seats on a shared bike tour for $35 per person.

How many people can ride?

We can have 15 riders maximum on our bikes!  However - Due to the serious steep hill climb to our first brew stop, groups over 10 passengers will be divided into 2 bike runs to get everyone up the hill and back together (approx. 10 minutes apart - first come first run) - don't worry second run, we adjust the timing of our stops to allow everyone plenty of time to enjoy Tacoma's finest brews - cheers!

What’s the minimum number of people required to run the beer bike?

For Private Tours we can run with a 4 person minimum.  For Shared Tours we need at least 6 pedalers, so your Shared ride is not confirmed and credit card not charged until we hit the magic number!  Shared tour guests will be notified 48 hrs in advance if the 6 person minimum is not met and the tour cancelled (bummer for all).

Who drives the beer bike?

We do, our drivers are helpful and informative – so you can have a fun and enjoyable slow roll experiencing Tacoma, the “City of Destiny”, and the delectable wares of our amazing craft brewers.

On Private Tours, one person is selected as the "Voice” of the tour and that person is the only person the driver answers to – take your time and tabulate the votes to find your tours “Voice”

Do I tip my driver?

Yes please, tips are always appreciated! If you had a great time, we recommend $5 per person on our public tours.  For private tours, we add an automatic gratuity of 15% for the driver, one less thing for your group to deal with.

Can we bring alcohol on the brew bike?

Sorry No. As per Washington State law, alcohol is not allowed on brew bikes. Note to riders, drinking alcohol on the bike is not permitted and is considered the same as drinking in public and carries all the same consequences under the law if you're arrested for an open container.  Each rider takes full responsibility for their actions and conduct while on the brew bike.

Does Tacoma Pedal & Pints supply food or beverages?

Nope. Riders may bring on snack-able finger foods or non-alcoholic beverages (in cans or filled up personal water bottles).  Most of our establishments offer delicious eats that can/should be ordered in advance (pizza, sandwiches, etc...) - check out their websites and munch accordingly.

NOTE:  No single use plastic water bottles please - we and the earth thank you!

Who can ride?

All riders must be of legal drinking age and must present valid identification.

Why do we have to sign a waiver to participate?

Guest waivers are standard practice for brew/party bikes and our waiver also outlines a handy, common sense "Code of Conduct" for all riders to follow - so everyone is on the same FUN page (don’t stand up while moving, no yelling obscenities…common sense stuff to keep our riders and staff safe and having a fun experience).  We know you would never violate our rules, but If that other person on your ride does, and is not able or willing to follow our simple rules, they will be politely asked to get off and find their own way home – thus restoring balance to the group and the Force.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for the predicted weather conditions. We ride rain or shine, so check your phone and layer accordingly. Closed-toe shoes or sturdy sandals work best – we don’t recommend heels or flip flops!

What if I can’t pedal?

No problem! There are 5 non-pedaling spots on each bike.

Where does the tour start/end?

102 S 26th St, Tacoma, WA 98402 - the bike will start/end the tour on the "A Street" east side of the building (across from Brown & Haley Candy Factory and Store, where there is also free city parking)

When should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

Is parking available?

There is designated free city parking along "A St", where you will see the Brown & Haley Candy Factory and Store, as well as up on Sth 27th St.  As you would with any downtown Tacoma event, please don't leave any valuables visible in the car - that includes the "Almond Roca" candy you just bought...put it all in the trunk!

Is public transit available?

Yes and an excellent choice!  You can easily ride the Link Light Rail tram from downtown Tacoma and get off/on at the South 25 St. Station (we are 1 block south).  https://www.soundtransit.org/ride-with-us/stations/tacoma-link-light-rail-stations

Does this tour include information about the city?

What if it's cold, rainy or windy the day of the tour?

The Tacoma Pedal & Pints Beer Bike operates rain or shine. We live in beautiful Tacoma Washington, the land of rain and shine!  However, our riders and drivers safety is our top priority, so if severe weather does or is forecasted to occur (snow, icy roads, etc…).  Considering such events, Tacoma Pedal & Pints reserves the right to cancel the tour 24 hrs prior to departure and offer the affected riders an opportunity to reschedule. There will be no reschedule opportunity offered to riders for rides once begun - so please check your weather app and dress accordingly.
